What is the TML Youth Leadership Programme?
The TML Youth Leadership Programme is designed to help young people develop leadership skills and a growth mindset to prepare for their future. It combines practical activities, mentoring, and skills development in a supportive environment.
Who is eligible to participate?
The programme is open to students who:
The programme runs from Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th April 2025, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm each day. It will be held at City Academy, Homerton Row, E9.
How much does it cost?
The programme is completely FREE for students eligible for free school meals. For those not eligible for free school meals ask for a £10 contribution per session.

What should students bring each day?
This information will be provided upon successful application, but students should generally come dressed for physical activities.
Q: Can parents attend any part of the programme?
Parents are specifically invited to attend the Celebration Event on Friday 18th April (Day 4).
What health measures are in place?
The programme will follow current health guidelines. Specific information will be provided closer to the start date.

Is transportation provided?
A: Transportation is not provided. Participants will need to arrange their own travel to and from City Academy.
What if a student can't attend all four days?
While full attendance is encouraged to get the maximum benefit, a student can still take part if they can only attend a some of the days. However Day 3 - Peer Mentoring Training is mandatory to receive the Peer Mentoring Certificate.

- Live or study in Hackney
- Are eligible to receive free school meals (FSM)

- Develop individual improvement action plans
- Create a starter CV and cover letter
- Gain a work experience opportunity
- Receive 12 hours of one-to-one corporate career mentoring after the programme
What is the daily schedule?
Each day follows this structure:
- 2:00-2:30pm: Introduction
- 2:30-3:30pm: Team building activities (physical activities with skills assessment)
- 3:30-4:00pm: Lunch (provided free for eligible FSM students)
- 4:00-5:00pm: Co-production of next day's session
- 5:00-6:00pm: Skills presentation and reflection

- Day 2 (Wednesday 16th): Orienteering Challenge around Hackney and East London
- Day 3 (Thursday 17th): Peer Mentoring Training
- Day 4 (Friday 18th): Celebration Event (parents invited)
